Silas Otieno is the Executive Director and Founder of Empower Studios~Africa, a space where young creators grow and thrive together. He draws from his own experience navigating the creative world with limited access, a journey that shaped his mission to build a space where emerging creators like him can find both opportunity and belonging.
Silas has produced short films, directed documentaries on giveback projects, as well as impact stories highlighting inspiring journeys of 1000+ youths leading social change across Africa. He was named a Resolution Fellow by the Resolution Project and won the Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund, recognizing his commitment to social entrepreneurship and youth leadership.
Silas brings both creative expertise and youth-centred leadership grounded in purpose and empathy, championing creative expression as a path to personal and community transformation. His vision is to nurture a generation of young African creators who rise together, producing meaningful work that transforms their communities and builds sustainable careers in the creative industry.
